Hello my dears - by request here is a little writeup for yous.... here we go.. get the cuppas ready....Calo goes on the road with a 60s Rock 'N Roll Band !!

After having unexpected oral surgery on Thursday and a flippin rotten flight on Friday,Calo arrives at London, Gatwick 10:05am on Oct 29th,, now just a minute here.. I said I arrived, I did not get off the plane till 11:05am, oh no it was only going to take a few minutes while we waited for the plane to leave the gate where we were suppposed to unload. Let me see, these few minutes turned into an hour and actually the long walk to the baggage claim felt good on the legs so things were picking up here.. umm well that feeling didn't last!! It took until 12:05pm for my luggage to come sailing down the ramp!! So much for an early checkin at Detroit!!  Now can you just tell what a little happy camper I was at this point???  My ride was there and was afraid I had gone off for a coffee or shopping at one of the shops as he was late arriving and thought he had missed me. Yeah right! I was lucky to be standing !!

Baggage claimed, off we go...we headed south towards Brighton...but had to stay on the Ring-Road, due to heavy Saturday traffic! ..... you know Annie, I do not think I am supposed to go to Brighton as it rained when we had thought of going with Funky that day! We continued West to Arundel Castle, where we took a delightful lunch stop and partook of the fresh Sussex air!! ...then on to Portsmouth to book in the Travelodge and on to Havant where my friend Iain had a Saturday night Gig....after wearing myself out dancing with the local talent, especially as the Boys had added "Dance The Night Away" to their repetoire!!....the long day and time difference took it's toll !!  Calo was ready for bed and out like a light once her head fell on the pillow.

Next day we headed for Southsea with panoramic views of the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth maritime landmarks -- yes well there would have been more pics - I know - I am trying for yous !! After a sampling of some of Dinky's donuts and hot chocolate we continue on to South Wales via Bristol and the New Severn Crossing. We headed off to a darling little town north of Newport called Risca! ..... where I had another lovely night at the local Workingmens Club.....Calo has to work off her fish & chips and dinky donuts somehow!!
.... The Boys managed to pack their equipment by midnight and we were  in Neath by 1am!! ...Such a hard life being a Rock 'n' Roll Circus Groupie!!!
Ok off you go for your refills.. here we are on Monday with sunshine and rain showers but it did not stop us doing some shopping and sightseeing...sshhhh... do not mention the pics.... my little camera is not cooperating. I know, I should have a digital camera!!   Another day of sunshine and showers for Tuesday  but honestly I have to say the beautiful mountains, hills, valleys and streams make up for it.. just breathtaking... in the evening we sampled the local Indian Cuisine at "Cafe India!" in Skewen. I sampled Popadoms with mango chutney and chicken tika!...very tasty! .... now where was I? Oh yeah to today, Wednesday ....... up late and out to the local market and Tescos.. where I was lost in rows of all that good Cadbury's stuff!!! Ohh Ohh Ohh.....Tonight I had fish & chips at "The Rock & Fountain" in Aberdulais. Now, I have to admit, Calo has been on the Bailey's since she has been here but there is no way I am attempting to pronounce some of these Welsh names-- sober or not!!
I will pop back with part 2 of my trip another day !!
Take care all and keep a smile.. Love Calo xox

Hi Calo, glad you are back after more adventures. It is like reading a book keeping track of you on your journeys. Get a good rest and then back on the road. Christmas is coming, are you ready?

Funky, Calo, and All

I am hoping I've finally got this browser situation under control. Downloaded Mozilla Firefox and no locking (freezing) up of pages thus far.

It would be nice to get out and doing some posting in my journal again!

Calo, nice to see you stopped by my journal. Only a few inches of snow here, but it has been very cold and a strong, bitter wind. I hope Funky is doing OK. Hope the Holiday season is relaxing for you. I agree with the less gift buying and helping others out.
